1. Endism is the belief that something of significant scope and duration is coming to an end, particuarly if it is something negative.
2. The media ecosystem is the term used to describe the relationship between weblogs and traditional journalism. It is seen as an ecosystem.
3. Narrowcasting is the dissemination of infomation (usually through television and radio) to a narrow audience rather than the general public as a whole.
4. The difference between the internet and the web is that the internet is a network of networks or a networking infrastructure. The web is the way of accesing the infomation stored on the internet.
5. A push medium is when the audience has the choice of whether to take it or leave it such as when something is being broadcast the audience can't choose whats on. A pull medium is when a form of media gets interest because the audience is pulled in by there own interest.
6. The positive aspect of blogging is that personal views and thoughts can be expressed to the rest of the world, blogging has provided the platform to do that. These are very useful for people who want to talk to people about big issues.
7. Photographs can now be shared with other people all over the world and this can lead to the discovery of some of the best pictures ever taken.
8. Now that television is almost a centuary old all the different genres have been explored and people are begining to get bored of what television has to offer. Also the quality of programming has declined in recent years and some people are distracted by new forms of media like the internet.
9. Microsoft is working on internet protocol tv with other internet partners like BT, the idea is to move tv on to the internet to catch the audience that is moving on. Other companies like Apple and Sony are rumored to be developing hardware that allows homeowners to download music and films.
